NUMBER 5 HUB
The Guildford Number Five Project, a local charity, operated the Night Shelter, most recently at 3 – 5 York Road, Guildford for nearly 30 years. On 1 April 2020 it handed over the operation of the Night Shelter to The Riverside Housing Group Limited.
Riverside is a substantial, national housing association and prior to the handover already had a number of responsibilities for the homeless in our area, including Vaughan House in Guildford. Information about Riverside can be found at https://www.riverside.org.uk/.
Details of the Night Shelter being operated by Riverside, now called Number 5 Hub, can be found at https://www.riverside.org.uk/in-your-neighbourhood/surrey/care-and-support/number-5-project/.

It is particularly important to be vigilant for the needs of rough sleepers in the difficult circumstances of the coronavirus epidemic as rough sleepers, often relying on public spaces and amenities, are potentially extremely vulnerable to contracting the disease and unwittingly causing it to spread.
If you are concerned about someone over the age of 18 that you have seen sleeping rough in England or Wales, please visit www.streetlink.org.uk to send an alert to StreetLink. The details you provide are sent to the local authority or outreach service for the area in which you have seen the person, to help them find the individual and connect them to support. It is important to note that if you think the person you are concerned about is under 18 please do not contact StreetLink but instead call the police.
